The Fenghua University was bustling with students.
Classes were starting from today and many students were rushing to their classes.
Fu Yan was also in his class and he was sitting with his buddy and roommate Zhang Wei.
Some were sitting with their heads down, more like sleeping since it was the first class of the day and it will start at 8:00 Am.
The professor came into the class and all students became quiet since professor Xiao would expel those from class who would cause trouble there.
The class lasted for 2 hours and since he had no more classes until evening, Fu Yan went back to his room and took out the book which he had taken from Galactic Library.
This book was very interesting as it explained how computer viruses work and how to ‘defend against them and also how to use one virus to counter another.
The theories and ideas presented in this book were astonishing because they were much more advanced than those available now.
If he were to compare this book to the previous one then the last book was a simple bike and this one was a high-speed sports bike.
He now knew why Old Shun gave him the previous book first-because many theories in this book were complex and if he had not learned the knowledge from the previous book, he might have had to waste a month to understand it.
He understood that he should not be hasty in learning new knowledge because when you build a house you need to lay a solid foundation, this way your house will be strong, last longer, and will not break easily.
He began to read the book more attentively and did not notice the time. He was so engrossed in it that he missed his evening class and even his lunch.
At 6 Pm, he went out to eat his meal because his stomach was protesting loudly for not having eaten in the afternoon.
He went to the café and ordered an evening meal. When he was just about to sit down, he saw the university goddess Ming Ye.
She was sitting at the next table with her friends.
He thought that he should at least say thank you to her since she gave him first aid so he went towards her table but just as he was about to approach her, someone blocked him.
It was one of her friends.
“You! Where do you think you are going?”
“I wanted to thank Miss Ye for saving me a week ago in the library when I got injured.”
“Oh! You are that boy who got injured in the library for reading more books than you could. Well, nerds are really different from others.” With that, she started to laugh and her other friend also laughed, even Ming ye smiled a little.
Fu Yan felt humiliated.
He backed out instantly and ran out of the café without saying anything.
Ming Ye stood up to stop him but he had run out without looking at anyone.
He knew that it was not his fault that he got injured that day but even if it was, others did not have the right to criticize him.
This day evoked something in him.
It was the spirit to do something, to make the world remember him. So that no one could ever laugh at him again.
He just picked up bread from a store and went back to his room downcast and also with a determination to change.
He just ate the bread halfheartedly and began to read again.
For 4 days Fu Yan only went out for food, and he did not even attend his classes.
His roommates asked him several times to go out to eat with them and to have fun but Fu Yan refused every time.
In these 4 days, he had finished the book and was practicing with his virus making skills.
From the book, he not only learned about how to make viruses but also how to make anti-virus. Because these two are linked together closely.
There is a saying “if you can make it then you can also kill it”.
After 2 hours of effort, he managed to create a prototype of a virus.
The whole week was spent in his room and he did not even care.
It was not harmful, but more like a prank. After getting infected with it, your computer will keep on restarting after 10 min intervals indefinitely. But no data would be lost. He wanted to make a virus that he could use to prank his friends.
When he made the virus, he also made an antivirus.
This virus was considerably more advanced than the technology available on earth, and if someone wanted to crack it, it would take him at least a month to do so.
That was if that person was an expert. If a normal person wanted to do it, he should better forget about it.
It might take him a year to do so because the technology he used is from the Galactic library which has collected technology from all over the universe and there are many races with much more advanced technology than earth. There were even races who had spaceships and were living in colonies on planets.
The logic and the protection system for the source code of the virus was too advanced for the people on earth to understand yet.
So he began experimenting with it and started to improve it.
1 more day passed and the final version was ready.
He made minor tweaks and made it so that if a computer were to be infected with it, it would not immediately start to shut it down but wait for a month before acting up.
This was more like a security feature for him because if he infected a person’s computer and his computer immediately started to have problems, the first person he would suspect would be the last one who touched his computer or those in that time frame.
Fu Yan was looking at his creation with amazement because no anti-virus program was able to detect it and if it was blocked by some antivirus, the virus would change its signature on its own and again try to invade.
It was more like a smart virus.
Fu Yan decided to name this virus “Hypnos”. In Greek mythology, Hypnos is the personification of sleep.
While writing the code for the virus, Fu Yan used many new logical algorithms that he created and even implemented many changes in the programs which help the program run faster and better.
These changes were not taught in the books, so they were his creation.
I think I will get more credits than before if I turned it in.
After thinking a bit, he decided to go to the Galactic Library to return the book.
With that, he swiped on the back of his right hand and a book shape tattoo started to emerge there.
Soon the glow intensified but it was only visible to Fu Yan.
He laid down on his bed and his consciousness soon emerged in the great hall of the Library.
As soon as he emerged there, Old Shun was waiting for him.
“So you have finished the second book as well, not fast, not slow so you are average but considering that you have just become a librarian then I will say good.”
Upon hearing this Fu Yan handed the book to Old Shun who with a wave of his hand sent it back to racks.
“With this, you have finished your free quota of reading books in the library for this month.”
Ok! Fu Yan nodded.
“Oh right! Old Shun I have also created a virus, help me turn it to the library to see if it counts as a contribution.”
“Very good, young man. It means that you are not reading for fun but also implementing it.”
Saying that he took the code of the virus from Fu Yan and the library started to analyze it.
Words soon started to materialize in the air.
New technical Knowledge detected. Analyzing.
His right hand glowed after a while and he swiped on it.
After swiping the tattoo emerged and a holographic book emerged in front of him.
Name: Fu Yan
Status: Trainee Librarian (Low)
Permission: 2 books a months
Level: 2 (2%)
Books: 0 (remaining)
Library Visits: 1 (remaining)
“Wow, I am level 2 now.” Fu Yan exclaimed.
“Since you climbed to level 2 that means your virus was truly new and it really contains advanced knowledge because the Library would never make a mistake,” Said Old Shun.
“Haha! Thanks. I really worked hard on this.” Fu Yan said while scratching his head a little.
“Well, Fu Yan, I have advice for you. You alone cannot satisfy the hunger for knowledge of the library. You should use the help of the people and make them work for you. Get them to do the minor tasks and you do the final work yourself. This way you will save your time and will have more time to experiment.”
Fu Yan was confused. He looked at the old Shun with a complex gaze and asked.
“Am I not good enough now. You see I have created the virus on my own and did not need outside help.”
Old Shun understood Fu Yan’s thinking and clarified it for him.
“You see, this knowledge that you have learned now is not even equal to the grain of the sand and you still have the whole beach to learn. so how will you use it?
You will need to experiment in the future and the way you are now, you will only waste your time on minute things so that’s why I recommend you to create a company so that you can use its resources.
This way you will have more time and resources, you will only need to focus on learning new knowledge while other work would be done by your workers.”
Fu Yan understood what Old Shun wanted him to do and decided to create a company.
With that, his consciousness returned to his body and he woke up.
“To create a company I will need the money and I only have $1000 or so in savings, so what should I do?”
He remembered the humiliation he felt a week ago when those girls made fun of him so he also felt that he should create a company.
“I have to think of a way to earn money fast.” Fu Yan thought with a determined look.
After thinking for a bit, an effective but dangerous idea came to his mind.
